Is your hot tub chlorine level constantly low? Here are three common causes and how to fix them:
1. Organic contaminants: Sweat, oils, and lotions use up chlorine fast. The Solution? Shower before soaking and use an enzyme treatment every week to break down organics.
2. Incorrect pH levels: Chlorine works best when pH is between 7.2 and 7.6. If the pH is too high or low, chlorine becomes less effective. So, test and adjust your pH weekly.
3. High water temperature: Heat speeds up chlorine loss. If you're not using your tub, lower the temperature to about 98°F or 36°C to slow chlorine depletion.
Remember to test your water 2-3 times a week and add chlorine as needed. Shock your tub weekly to keep chlorine levels stable.
