OLD SCHOOL BRIE CHEESE EN CROUTE
This is a great recipe to really impress your family and friends during the holidays
Its very simple easy and festive
1 brie cheese. Mine was 8 inches (15cm) in diameter.
1/2 cup apricot jam
1 sheet puff pastry
1 egg
Instructions :
Unfold the thawed puff pastry. Roll it if needed, but do not roll it too thin.
Spoon 1/2 of jam mixture in the center of the pastry sheet, place the brie on top and spread the rest of the jam-nuts mixture onto the cheese.
Fold tightly the pastry edges together.
Flip the brie in the puff pastry over. Decorate it. Brush the wrapped brie with egg wash. To make the egg wash, beat 1 egg in the bowl with a whisk or fork.
Bake for 15-20 min in the preheated oven at 425°F (220°C).
Let the baked brie rest for 30 min before serving.
serve with fruit and crackers of your choice
