STORYLINE:
As the East Coast continues to be impacted by the summer heat wave, the wax statue of the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, started melt.

Parts of the famed statue were exposing the metal framing that hold's the figure together, and at one point the head of Abe Lincoln started to fall out of place.

Staff members of the art instillation removed the head and placed a sign reading, "The head has temporarily been removed for repair. Thank you."

Washington D.C., like so many cities in the U.S., are experiencing massive heat that are impacting Americans across the country.
