I tried ICE DYE on linen, cotton and silk! (WOW - so magical!) - Video

Dear Sewing Friends, in this video I have another fabric/sewing experiment for You - this time we are doing ICE DYE! That's right - one of the main components of this process is ice, which while melting creates beautiful designs on your fabric or garment. It has never been more pleasant to watch the ice melt :) I hope you enjoy this creative journey and it encourages you to try your hand at it as well, or maybe dust off your sewing machine and get sewing!

The dyes that I used:
Procion MX Dye (cold water dye for natural fibers) - 210 Pale Aqua
Procion MX Dye (cold water dye for natural fibers) - 184 Bubble Gum
Procion MX Dye (cold water dye for natural fibers) - 078 Navy
Procion MX Dye (cold water dye for natural fibers) - 040 Fuchsia

Dharma Fiber Reactive Dye - 22 Cobalt Blue
Dharma Fiber Reactive Dye - H17 Hot Hibiscus
Dharma Fiber Reactive Dye - 25 Turquoise* (I)

Fabric that I used (only natural fibers): Linen, Cotton and Silk

You will also need soda ash for this dye process.

Don't forget to wear PPE when doing this dye process.

PLEASE NOTE: this is not a tutorial, please do your own research before you begin to ice dye.

I bought my dyes directly from Dharma Trading (I also buy muslin fabric from them) and from Jerry's Artorama (I buy my art supplies from them), but you can also find them on Amazon as well.
