I can’t tell you how often I get asked this question!???? The answer is yes, although it can depend on who you ask and what type of jewelry!!

The saltwater in my experience is not harmful to your silver or gold jewelry. It may need a polish when you come out of the water and be looking a little dull! We use solid sterling silver and most of our jewelry is welded so there is no solder used. Other gemstone jewelry or jewelry with lots of solder may have a different reaction. Make sure to remove it before the beach if you are unsure, better safe then sorry!

I do not suggest wearing it in pools or hot tubs however. The harsh chemicals found in pools and hot tubs can eat away at the metal and cause discoloration and pitting on the surface of the metal.
