Is Twitch’s reign coming to an end?! Live streaming has garnered a LOT of popularity over the last decade, which was accelerated by the pandemic. Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, and even Mixer for a bit, saw a HUGE increase in watch hours from 2020 to now. But that growth is slowing down, and the platforms are feeling it. Twitch has increased the amount it takes from its creators from 30% to 50% within the last year in order to try and fix their cash bleeding problem. In fact, Twitch takes the most from their creators. YouTube only takes 30%, and the new streaming platform Kick takes only 5%. This has led to a LOT of creators considering switching to Kick if the money is right. Twitch streamers Adin Ross and Corinna Kopf have confirmed they are moving their streams to Kick, with xQc and Kai Cenat floating the idea between each other recently.
