We took a road trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan for Charlie to do some work there. On the first night we stopped in Park City, Kentucky at the Grand Victorian Inn. Our favorite moments from this leg of the trip were playing in THE MOST SNOW we’ve ever seen at Lake Michigan, rainy day hikes in France Park Indiana, and long talks in the hot tub after an amazing dinner in historic Crawfordsville. We will head home for one week for a doctors appointment before hitting the road again for three more weeks!

Charlie & I dated for six years before getting married in September 2018. After some health scares, we decided to transition to tiny living and follow our travel and homesteading dreams. We bought a 2009 Heartland Bighorn in November 2018 to renovate into our newlywed tiny home. Our fifth-wheel RV had some water damage but we were able to purchase it for a great price of $7,000. After a full year of remodeling and repairs, we moved into our new home in 2019 which we parked on family land. After two years and three rounds of raising baby chicks into our flock of chickens later, we moved our little house on wheels to a new property where we plan to continue growing our homestead. We began tiny house renovations part two in 2021! We are still working in phases to totally move the kitchen to the back of our RV with new cabinets, countertops, and a farmhouse sink. We also built a custom tile shower, composting toilet, new bedroom, and electric fireplace with a mantle in the living room space. We are currently working on the exterior to remove the RV windows and give the outside a typical tiny house look with our DIY version of board & batten, new doors, and windows. We wanted to do all of these additional renovations to increase the longevity of this place so we can continue to live debt free and save for a few more years for our homesteading goals and future adoptions. We share our adventure with you in hopes that it will give a picture of what tiny living can be and make it less scary for people who may be skeptical like we once were. We love that you are here to follow the journey with us! But, to be honest, we have no idea where this road is going to take us....
With faith & patience, let's go after everything bright & beautiful God has for us!
Colossians 1:12 MSG "It's a strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy. I thank the Father who makes me strong enough to take part in everything bright a beautiful He has for us."
