THE GETAWAY IN DESERT HOT SPRINGS:
This vacation rental is like a hybrid between a hotel and an Airbnb, giving you the best of both worlds. It’s an apartment complex with 5 units, and a shared pool and hot tub.

It has a mid-century aesthetic, from the furniture to the decor to the building architecture itself, so it feels like a step back in time. But it does have modern amenities like fast wifi and TVs with Roku streaming.

Each unit has a full kitchen, giving you the comforts of home and the space to gather together. There are studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom options. You can also book the entire complex for a large group like a family reunion or group of friends.

It’s affordably priced, and close to all the Palm Springs attractions and trails. It’s even close enough to Joshua Tree National Park that you could drive to and visit for the day. The hotel is also dog-friendly.

INDIAN CANYONS:

This is land owned by native groups, and you need to pay per person to get in for the day. There are several trails throughout the area. We went on:

Andreas Canyon Trail - a 1 mile loop that goes along a stream with palm trees, and unique rock formations.

Palm Canyon Trail - and out-and-back trail that’s about 3-4 miles total, but you can turn around at any point. It also follows a stream with palm trees.
