Sims 1
There are multiple hot tubs available in The Sims. While chilling in the Hot Tub, Sims can only chat with each other and change the topic several times. The Niagara Love Tub was introduced with The Sims: Hot Date. Two Sims can sit in this hot tub. and multiple social interactions were added. Now you can massage, Sims can cuddle, they can also kiss and "play". This is also available in Redwood Hot Tub that came with Sims Vacation.

Sims 2
Hot Tubs came with the base game in The Sims 2. Up to 4 Sims can chill in the hot tub. Sims will autonomously chat with other Sims. Sims can splash the other sim, they can cuddle, give a massage, kiss and make out. Sims can also WooHoo. If FreeTime is installed, Sims can also tinker. The Sims 2 also has a Love Tub which can be earned as an Aspiration reward.

Sims 3
In The Sims 3 Hot Tubs were introduced in Late Night, but later were added in the base game. Sims can drink while in the Hot Tub and listen to music if they have a portable stereo in their inventory. Sims can't splash other Sims, or give massage. Sims can chat, gossip and do some other social interactions while in the tub. Sims can cuddle, kiss and make out. They can also WooHoo if other Sims are not present. Depending on the Hot Tub, up to 6 Sims can chill in one.

Sims 4
In The Sims 4, Hot Tubs were reintroduced in: Perfect Patio Stuff, but later were added to the base game. Almost every social interaction is available while in the Hot Tub with other Sims. they can make a move, cuddle, splash another Sim, tickle, give and ask for a massage, kiss, make out and WooHoo. You can upgrate the Hot Tub to have few more features. they can drink and listen to music in the Hot Tub. Sims can also watch TV while sitting in the Hot Tub. Up to 8 sims to hangout inside the Hot Tub at one time.
