#Yakisugi is a Japanese method for burned wood siding. Used for preserving wood, it's said to make a wood more durable. While it looks good initially, architects like Chris Hunter from Hunter Office have ceased using Yakisugi and Sugi Ban for their projects because it "rubs off, weathers in the rain, and isn't the nicest to touch". Instead he recommends a stain by Sansin for cedar tubs, fences and houses. It's charcoal sheen is very natural and looks like Yakisugi without compromising on comfort, quality or durability.

Built by AlumiTubs, stained by the customer at Black Cabins in Byron Bay, NSW, this Small 2 person hot tub looks good and will last a lifetime. Arriving pre-assembled, the owners rolled it into place, added it to their deck design and customized it with a black stain.
