We did stay 3 nights at Dog River. We were waiting for our coffee to arrive. It didn’t. Tanya at Dog River will mail it off to Holiday Harbor which is our next marina. We didn’t want to spend more time here so we took off to head across Mobile Bay. The Bay is a very shallow body of water so the winds can kick up some gnarly waves. We had 10-12 mph winds out of the NE and we had some pretty choppy water. You can watch the waves crashing over the bow in the video. Visibility was also low due to fog and rain. It was a 4 of 10 for a challenging ride, and when we arrived at Fairhope we were happy to find a nice welcoming marina with many amenities. When it stopped raining we took Gracie for a walk to stretch our legs. They had a small stretch of sandy beach where we could dip our feet into the water. There was a weather station in one of the gazebos, and they have a pool and a hot tub. The marina is surrounded by huge, I mean HUGE, homes right on the river, and it was a very nice stay. We were able to cook up a ribeye steak and bake a potato in the microwave for dinner. We thank the Lord for safe passage and look forward to getting into calmer waters tomorrow.
