I know I've experienced this feeling of skin is tight and itchy after showering, or even sometimes after hand washing.

Water temperature definitely plays a role in this (soap is another factor) especially if you are already prone to dry, flaky, or eczema skin.

Another tip is to always pat dry after bathing and hand washing to avoid over-drying your skin even further.
